Small Business Awards Decided by Local Customers
Voted Number One runs community-voted small business awards across Arizona. Customers nominate the shops, restaurants, and service companies they use. Then the community votes, and the top three in each category earn a medal.
How the Small Business Awards Work
Three steps, open to anyone with an email address.

Nominate
Customers and owners nominate a local business in a category such as food & drink, pets, or home services. Self-nominations count.

Vote
Once voting opens, each person casts one verified vote per category. Email verification blocks duplicate votes.

Win a Medal
The top three businesses in each category win. First place earns Diamond, second earns Platinum, and third earns Gold.
Why Customer Votes Make a Better Award
No Entry Fee Decides the Winner
Many business awards charge an application fee or reward the companies that buy a sponsorship. Here, nominating and voting cost nothing. A business wins because its customers showed up for it.
Customers Know Who Shows Up
A plumber who answers on a Sunday. A coffee shop that remembers your order. Customers see that every week, so their votes carry details a panel of judges never sees.
Small Shops Compete on Equal Terms
A family-owned bakery gets the same single vote per person as a regional chain. Ad budgets don't change the count.
Each Category Gets Its Own Winners
Awards run city by city and category by category. A Sedona winery competes with Sedona wineries, and a Flagstaff mechanic competes with Flagstaff mechanics.
Neighbors Get a List They Can Trust
New residents and visitors use the winners list to find a dentist, a groomer, or a dinner spot their neighbors already back.
What Winners Receive
- A Diamond, Platinum, or Gold medal for their category and city
- A listing on the Voted Number One winners page
- The option to order a physical award from the Award Shop, printed with their city and category
